Description

Hike through the forest and along the ridgeline before heading to the alpine pastures where the sheep are grazing during the summer; from the summit of Croise Baulet, you’ll enjoy a sweeping 360° panoramic view of the Aravis or the Mont Blanc massif

Discover the Grand Croisse Baulet mountain—a hike that starts from the Refuge parking lot in Cordon. This hiking adventure is designed for hikers seeking a challenge, with a red-level trail considered difficult.

Your efforts will be rewarded at the summit with a breathtaking 360° view of the surrounding mountains—a spectacular sight you can admire from the traditional bench at Grand Croisse Baulet.

Whether for exercise, the view, or a moment of relaxation after the climb, this hike invites you to discover the mountain in all its forms.

Warning: Patous (sheepdogs) are present on the Croisse Baulet mountain pasture from July through approximately mid-September.

As stipulated by Municipal Ordinance No. 18/2024, domestic dogs are prohibited on the communal mountain pasture around Montagne de Croisse Baulet between July 1 and September 15.

This year, the herding dogs and sheep on Croisse Baulet will remain on the mountain pasture until October 2, 2026.

Caution: dangerous passage near Les Seyttets (due to the presence of a sheep pen and herding dogs), but passage is possible. Alternative route recommended via the Tête du Planet.

Difficult sections

Be careful during the summer months when passing through areas guarded by guard dogs.

Warning: dangerous passage near Les Seyttets (sheep pen and Patou dogs present), but passage is possible. Alternative route recommended via the Tête du Planet.
