The association was founded in late 2022 under the name “Les chemins de Cordon.” Its main purpose is to help maintain our trails and improve our walking and hiking routes.
In both summer and winter, hiking is a very popular activity in Cordon, whether it’s for exercise, socializing, or simply to take in the scenery—on foot, on skis, on snowshoes, or by bike.
The small tasks offered to members are within everyone’s reach and can be done along the way: clearing drainage ditches, light pruning, removing branches, and identifying areas requiring more substantial work...
Larger projects are carried out as a team, with assistance from municipal services when needed.
The mountains remain a rare haven of freedom where hikers respect nature and greet one another as they pass. Sometimes a conversation begins, and lasting bonds can form. It is a privilege that the preservation of this intangible heritage helps to ensure its continued existence.
The first collective effort took place in August 2023: the reconstruction of the bench at the summit of Croisse-Baulet. Elsewhere and in the future, this could involve restoring a forgotten trail or even building a footbridge. All ideas are welcome.
