The association works for the "Festival du Baroque au Pays du Mont-Blanc", which takes place during the summer.
Cordon created the Baroque Festival in 1997, based on the discovery of architectural sites in the Mont Blanc region, and on prestigious musical and cultural events, while showcasing the "Notre Dame de l'Assomption" church with its sumptuous Baroque decor.
The festival was the brainchild of Lucienne Petit-Jean, and was launched in 1998 by the Cordon tourist office and its president, Bernard Rémy.
It was a daring gamble, but the enthusiasm and good will of an entire team ensured the event's continued existence.
Today, the Festival Baroque du Pays du Mont-Blanc is an association with almost one hundred active members.
Today, the Festival Baroque offers a series of concerts on the theme of Baroque music, throughout the Pays du Mont-Blanc.
