Description

Come and dance with the Cordon village folk group association, "Lou Bénnéttons".

The group was formed in 1956 as a group of friends who performed at local festivals. Over time, the group became more structured and joined the Union des groupes folkloriques de Haute-Savoie. Since 1976, it has been known as "Lou Bennetons", in homage to this agricultural tool once widely used to work our sloping land. Today, some thirty members, aged between 15 and 60, share the joy of representing the dances of our village.

Some representative participations: closing ceremony of the Albertville Olympic Games (1992), several participations in the International Alpine Folklore Festival (Italy), regular exchanges with groups from all regions of France, 350th anniversary of the city of Irkutsk (Siberia).

In performance, 16 dancers successively interpret parade dances, quadrilles, grandes rondes, "grand'danses", polkas, mazurkas and other waltzes for around an hour's show, all accompanied by accordionists, clarinettists and violinists.

We look forward to meeting you.

The "Lou Bénnéttons" folk group performs every year at the Fête de la Miou on August 15, and at the Journée du Pain on the first Sunday in September.
