Croix de Tête Noire - Hiking Trail

A lovely hike in the hills above Cordon, with magnificent views of both the Mont Blanc massif and the Aravis range.

A hike that promises an escape into the heart of nature with breathtaking panoramic views of the Aravis Range and Mont Blanc. Accessible from the Peray parking lot, this red-level trail is intended for experienced hikers.

The ascent takes place mostly through the woods: as you make your way up, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Aravis Range, including the Pointe Percée and the Quatres Têtes. Once at the summit, the landscape opens up to a breathtaking panoramic view.

This mountain trail, in addition to being a feast for the eyes, also allows you to bring your four-legged companions along, as pets are welcome here—on a leash, of course. Enjoy this hike to the fullest, while respecting the tranquility of the forest and the alpine meadows.

1/ Park at the Peray parking lot.
2/ Follow the sign for "Tête Noire,"
3/ The hike uphill through the forest takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Alternative route: You can extend the hike by continuing on to the Chalets des Bénés (+30 min).
4/ Descend along the same trail, following signs for “Le Peray.”
