Black loop N ° 43 on the field - "Circuit du Pays du Mont-Blanc" Technical analysis : Route: The County Council of Haute-Savoie offers about forty marked routes to discover by bike the landscapes of the department. These itineraries are offered in the form of loop which makes it possible to diversify the landscapes. The round trips are avoided because they pose problems of understanding continuity of course and reading of the signaling. The start of this loop is located in Sallanches, Pre Curral (bike path along the stream of Biale) Technical Summary: Departure City / TER: Sallanches Length: 54.7 km Total fall: 1057 m Difficulty: black Direction of travel: inverse of the hands of the watch Landmarks and connections: Cordon direction to then go over the Combloux town center, then pass in the center of Megève to to join the commune of Saint-Gervais and to finish with the by-pass of the lake of Ilettes while returning on Sallanches by the Green Lane along the Arve. Variant: A possibility of extension of the route has been proposed allowing to make a loop on the commune of Contamines-Montjoie. This one extends the circuit of 20 km and adds 400m to the cumulative elevation gain. Length with variant: 75 km Total climbing with variant: 1459 m This cycle touring loop enjoys a magnificent landscape throughout the course with many views and a passage along the Lake of Ilettes at the end of the stage.  The main coasts are located: - From downtown Sallanches to Médon (5.5% out of 8km) - Combloux town center at the entrance to the town of Megève (4.4% over 5km) - Starting from the bottom of the Ponthieux road on the D43 (5.1% over 4km) Given these elements, length, altitude and road traffic this route is to be reserved for a sporty and experienced public. The classification of the route according to the official coding grid of the FFCT * and the FVT *, gives this one for a sporting practice, confirmed and technical. Quotation and information to take into account, in case of promotion of the course for VAE (Electrically Assisted Bicycles). * FFCT (French Cyclotourism Federation) * FVT (France Bicycle Tourism) Synthesis This cycle touring loop project proposed to the County Council can be included in a complement of the offer of cycling loops of departmental interest. This route may be open to a wider audience through the use of VAE (electric assistance bikes) but it is recalled that the cyclist will know how to manage the various difficulties encountered (sections with traffic, steep descents). The route remains reserved for experienced cyclists who have a good cycling experience and who will assess the difficulties. Departmental cycling loops: as part of its policy of developing cycling (utilities and leisure - tourism), the department implemented in 2002 cycling routes and cyclo-sports marked. There are 48 of them and represent a little more than 3000 km of cumulative linear. This offer is designed for experienced cyclists and sports, it consists of the implementation of markup on existing roads without making specific arrangements. Note: A similar offer was made in Savoie to offer 115 routes in Savoie Mont Blanc. This project of new loops on the sector of the Pays du Mont Blanc would make it possible to expand the departmental offer.
