Description

A century of upheaval, with 5 months of hell and 7 months of winter. A century of pain, but also of evolution. The school, the church, the Savoyard land registry, the French occupation....Find out how the climate has impacted village life during a walk.
The community of Cordon has always been very dynamic, witness the numerous lawsuits with neighboring alpacists. The "Little Ice Age" led to the construction of a solid habitat adapted to the long months of winter under the snow. This century also saw the construction of a church in the center of the village, following the fashion of the day: Alpine Baroque. The history of Savoie's very first mountain school sheds light on immigration. In this stroll, all the upheavals of this century come to the fore. Tours adapted for juniors.
