Miou Festival
Description
Traditional village festival and patron saint's day. The festivities begin with high mass at 10am and continue all day until the fondue party at 7pm.
Program of festivities:
- High mass at 10am
- Maneuvers and parade of the Grenadiers with Megève's "Les pitaquignons" group around 11 a.m.
- Exhibition by the Heritage Association, on the theme of attics, bread ovens, sheds and other secrets of Cordon's history.
- Games for young and old, shooting competition (laser rifle) all day long
- All-day stand selling pastries and Rissoles (famous local pastries)
- Snack bar (assiettes garnies, or chipo/frites) at 12 p.m.
- Folk dances with the Contamines-Montjoie group "Les Verdasses" at 2:15pm and 4:30pm
- Grenadiers parade at 3pm
- Fondues offered in the evening or "assiettes garnies" from 7pm (buy your tickets on site from 6pm - €18 - no table reservation) followed by dancing.
