Description

The church of Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce (1950) is the key building in the 20th century revival of sacred art. The masterpieces that decorate it are signed by the greatest artists of modern art.
Founded by Canon Devémy for the sanatorial population, designed by Maurice Novarina and consecrated in 1950, the Plateau d'Assy church was decorated, with the advice of Dominican Father Marie-Alain Couturier, by the greatest masters of modern art (Jean Bazaine, Pierre Bonnard, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Jean Lurçat, Henri Matisse, Germaine Richier, Georges Rouault, Chaim Jacob Lipchitz, Marguerite Huré, Théodore Strawinsky, Carlo Sergio Signori, Adeline Hébert-Stevens). In 2004, the building was classified as a Historic Monument and awarded the "Patrimoine du XXème siècle" label.
