Discover mountaineering with a family initiation to the 1st summit in Cordon, heading for the Tête du Planet. Alpine hike and short via corda to reach the summit (ascent + 650m).
During the summer vacations, we're offering a first experience on an affordable summit. After a 450 m hike in the Cordon mountain pastures, you'll have to climb a small ridge to the summit of the Croix du Planet at 1838 m. You'll be roped up on a 30-metre via corda, wearing your lanyards, harnesses and helmets. A great outing that will give the youngest climbers the chance to experience their first summit in an original way! Physical level: 2/4 Technical level: 1/4 Highlights : - Wilderness setting - Discovery of mountaineering - Real small summit above Cordon - 360° views Detailed program: We'll set off from the ski slopes of Cordon along pretty paths and skirt around the summit of the Croix du Planet to the foot of a small rocky bastion. This 450 m uphill hike in a wild setting takes 1h30 / 2h15 depending on the level of the group. You will then climb 20 m up an aerial pillar and a beautiful ridge to reach the summit of the Tête du Planet at 1838 m on a via corda that the guide will have equipped during your snack break! You'll progress safely with your helmets, lanyards and harnesses. From the summit, you'll have an exceptional view of Mont-Blanc and the Aravis range. Take a shorter route back down to the parking lot. Itinerary: From the parking lot of the refuge restaurant, we'll take a track up through meadows and woods to the top of the resort. A hiking trail takes us up below the Croix du Planet. Just below the summit, we cross over to the north towards the Plateau des Bénés, where we come to rest under a rocky ridge. We'll have to climb about 30 m to reach the summit plateau and the Cross. Exceptional views of Cordon, the Fiz chain, the Aravis massif and Mont-Blanc. After a snack at the summit, we'll head back down south to the Cordon mountain pastures. To sum up 650 m ascent, more or less 2 hours hiking time to get below the summit, 1 hour at the summit (roping up, ascent, snack break), 1 hour walking time for the return. So between 3h45 and 4h30 for the activity. Includes : Supervision by a mountain guide Technical equipment (helmet, harness, lanyards) What you need: - Drinks, cereal bars. - Transport to the start of the activity. Equipment to bring : - Small backpack - cap - sunglasses - sun cream - windbreaker - warm clothes - good walking shoes - walking stick if necessary
