What is a flower? How are they made? What are they used for? During a walk, we'll use a variety of approaches to discover flowers (games, a scientific approach, using the senses...). We'll learn to identify some of them, and discover their secrets. This workshop can also be held indoors (choice 2). The teaching approach of this workshop is scientific, playful and cognitive. How it works : - Choice 1: outdoors During a discovery walk, let's use our senses to learn about flowers. flowers. We start with a cooperative game to help us understand how plants work, and to introduce the notion of photosynthesis. Then we get to the heart of the matter. With a magnifying glass in hand, we take a close look at a flower to understand its structure and name its various parts. This scientific approach enables us to understand the role of flowers in an ecosystem, and to appreciate their adaptations to altitude. Finally, we'll awaken our senses to savor the scent, and even the taste, of certain flowers. - Choice 2: indoors The first interactive stage consists in defining what a plant is and its life cycle. We complete this activity with a role-playing game to help the students assimilate the information. Then, we reflect together on the climatic conditions in high mountains to discover the adaptations of different plants to cold, wind and altitude. Learning objectives : - Discover the plant cycle. - Understand the structure of a flower and its role in an ecosystem. - Understand the layering of vegetation and flora's adaptations to altitude. - Learn to identify certain flowers and their properties.
