At Combloux, you can swim in natural water filtered solely by aquatic plants. The Biotope is France’s first ecological swimming lake, set against the backdrop of Mont Blanc. The lake is bordered by a granite sun deck and a grassy beach area.

➡️ Purchasing your Biotope entry:
During school holidays:
- Via our online shop (www.combloux.com/boutique) until 10:30 AM on the day of your visit (no phone reservations)
- At the Tourist Office from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
- Directly at the lake ticket office from 10:30 AM onwards (subject to availability)
Outside school holidays:
- Only on-site at the Biotope lake.
Advance tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Reservations are highly recommended during school holidays.
➡️ What to expect
People come here to swim, cool off, relax on the grass or granite, picnic, enjoy the view, and take their time. Water temperatures vary with the weather—usually between 18°C and 26°C—giving the site a dynamic character that changes from day to day and season to season.
➡️ A little extra
Your ticket is valid for the entire day: you receive an access wristband at the ticket office, allowing you to come and go freely throughout the day. This wristband also grants free access to the temporary exhibition at the "Ferme à Isidore."

➡️ When can you use the biotope swimming lake?
- From mid-June to early September. Daily admission is capped at a specific number of swimmers.
- During peak season, the lake frequently reaches capacity; we recommend booking in advance.
➡️ Good to know before you visit
- Limited capacity → booking recommended
- Swim briefs or fitted swim trunks are mandatory; loose-fitting boxers or board shorts are prohibited.
- Water temperature ranges from 18°C to 26°C, depending on weather conditions.
- The water depth increases gradually, ranging from a minimum of 40 cm to a maximum of 2.45 m. Please keep this in mind regarding everyone's swimming ability and remain particularly vigilant with children.
- Pets not allowed
- On-site rentals: sun loungers and parasols (80 parasol sockets installed on the grassy beach area)
- Snack bar on-site
- Picnicking on towels allowed
- Limited shade (please bring sun protection; parasols available for rent—limited quantities)
- Restrooms with changing tables; baby food can be warmed up on-site

- Aqua-gym and aqua-cardio classes. - The Alexpérience bar-restaurant, located next to the lake, features a snack bar directly accessible from the site.
- A “100% organic” walk around the lake, complete with information panels.
